Thank you for this plugin!Really excited to hear that test. The IK Multimedia Master Equalizer 432 Software (Download) is a full parametric equalizer based on popular analog hardware in the field of mastering. IK Multimedia EQ 432, is a nice try but I was missing what I've written above.Įxciting experiments with Soma and AMEK in combination going on right now. If someone would emulate the MEA-2 or the AD2055 =Īs I work totally ITB I can only compare it with my usual suspects: The others sound awesome - no question - but a little sterile for my taste.

In MY experience, the Sontec ALWAYS made the better job in a musical manner. I don't own any of the hardware versions, but I've often attended mastering sessions where either Sontec, Maselec and Avalon had to be chosen for whatever reason. (Sure, sometimes it's just a matter of taste and it's nice to have a certain amount of options.)īUT: every single move I do on the Sontec is very much "obvious" and has a very expedient musical result. Stepped positions and sans (optional) graphic display are always good for decisions. I'm told the curves and interactivity "are -dead- on".Īnd (part of its "sound" to many, I suspect), the widest bandwidth bells also affect the entire audio spectrum (as per the hardware). I haven't done a direct comparison with the Sontec MES 432 hardware but this sounds good: the highs are smoothly "musical", no added noise or THD or unnecessary filtering at the extremes (pink noise tested).
